My name is Tonya, and I grew up on a 300-acre farm in rural Virginia that has been in my family for over 100 years. After graduating from college, receiving my masterโs degree in speech and language pathology, and living and working in a small city for six years, I decided to return to the place of my childhood. Here, in this rural area, on this patch of green, where for four generations my family has farmed, gardened, and lived, I, too wanted to be a part of this continuity. As a fourth generation farmgirl, I have many interests that not only include, but also go beyond the basics of farming, gardening, sheep and chicken-keeping. It is all of this and more that I plan on sharing in this blog.
I dance and prance round my apartment to that song pretty much every day … I love the picture – so many memories of waiting for tubes I was trying to work out which line and then decided it was far too geeky nerdy and the answer is a large glass of vin ordinaire which is plentiful in the city! ๐

Thanks so much, Osyth. It’s a fantastic song….and a history lesson. I love so many things about London, and the tube is one of them. I think it was either the District or Circle line. ๐ xo

I’m happy you enjoyed it! Billy Joel won a Grammy Award for this song in the late 80s/early 90s.

Love the song. I’ve was trying to be a bit geeky and figure out which tube station you were at but not enough clues. Victoria station would probably be my best guess. One of my friends used to be a Station Supervisor at Gt Portland Street and he used to delight in playing music, loudly, when the station was closed.

I do, too. It’s a classic! I think it was either Monument or Embankment. Thanks for visiting! ๐๐ฌ๐ง
