My name is Tonya, and I grew up on a 300-acre farm in rural Virginia that has been in my family for over 100 years. After graduating from college, receiving my masterβs degree in speech and language pathology, and living and working in a small city for six years, I decided to return to the place of my childhood. Here, in this rural area, on this patch of green, where for four generations my family has farmed, gardened, and lived, I, too wanted to be a part of this continuity. As a fourth generation farmgirl, I have many interests that not only include, but also go beyond the basics of farming, gardening, sheep and chicken-keeping. It is all of this and more that I plan on sharing in this blog.
Love this Tonya!

The quote is superb (what else would one of expect of Aristotle!) and I intend to share it with my youngest daughter who is in the final year of her Fine Arts Batchelors Degree – it’s a great reminder in the mire of work she has to produce both written and practical this year. Your painting is just wonderful. I don’t know where it is but it reminds me very much of my home in Cantal and therefore, because there are many similarities, of Scotland, or the Lake District, Wales and the West of Ireland. Mostly of home though which really makes me happy! Thank you ππΌ

I loved the quote, too. Best wishes to your daughter. I’m sure she’ll come through with flying colors. π
Thank you very much for your kind comment, Osyth. I think the inspiration photo was from an article about the Lake District. It really is a beautiful area. I’m so glad it reminded you of your lovely home. ππ
