My name is Tonya, and I grew up on a 300-acre farm in rural Virginia that has been in my family for over 100 years. After graduating from college, receiving my master’s degree in speech and language pathology, and living and working in a small city for six years, I decided to return to the place of my childhood. Here, in this rural area, on this patch of green, where for four generations my family has farmed, gardened, and lived, I, too wanted to be a part of this continuity. As a fourth generation farmgirl, I have many interests that not only include, but also go beyond the basics of farming, gardening, sheep and chicken-keeping. It is all of this and more that I plan on sharing in this blog.

Thanks, Ritu. Tino was born around the same time as our other lambs, but he’s much smaller. What he lacks in size, he makes up in cuteness! 😊🐏

I was taking a little break; however, I’m happy to be back! Tino is one of four new lambs that Farmguy and I recently welcomed to Green Hill Farm. 😊

Thank you very much, Osyth. 🙂💗 I think everyone benefits from rest occasionally. And, I appreciate your comment regarding the circle of life. Two of our sheep passed away since December. And, while it’s sad to let them go, looking ahead and welcoming new lambs is an uplifting and joyful way to embrace the journey. 😊

That’s really nice of you to say! Thanks so much, Sam. Since we usually name our sheep after flowers and plants, and also, because we’re studying about wine, we thought “Vermentino” or “Tino” was a good fit. 😊
