My name is Tonya, and I grew up on a 300-acre farm in rural Virginia that has been in my family for over 100 years. After graduating from college, receiving my masterβs degree in speech and language pathology, and living and working in a small city for six years, I decided to return to the place of my childhood. Here, in this rural area, on this patch of green, where for four generations my family has farmed, gardened, and lived, I, too wanted to be a part of this continuity. As a fourth generation farmgirl, I have many interests that not only include, but also go beyond the basics of farming, gardening, sheep and chicken-keeping. It is all of this and more that I plan on sharing in this blog.
Such a Sweet lamb!! ππ

Thanks, Ritu. Tino was born around the same time as our other lambs, but heβs much smaller. What he lacks in size, he makes up in cuteness! ππ

Tonya I was a little worried about you and was about to leave a comment on a previous post to that effect. I am so happy to see you back and snuggling little Tino who has to take the prize for most adorable of the week. Congratulations to you all on her birth and long may she skitter and bounce! π

Thank you for your kind comment and concern, Osyth. Youβre very sweet.
I was taking a little break; however, Iβm happy to be back! Tino is one of four new lambs that Farmguy and I recently welcomed to Green Hill Farm. π

Itβs good to take a break from time to time …. Revitalizing and rejuvenating I think. Itβs lovely to have you back and I am delighted that you have four little lambs at Green Hill Farm …. your blog presents a beautiful reminder of the circle of life we exist as a tiny part of π

Thank you very much, Osyth. ππ I think everyone benefits from rest occasionally. And, I appreciate your comment regarding the circle of life. Two of our sheep passed away since December. And, while itβs sad to let them go, looking ahead and welcoming new lambs is an uplifting and joyful way to embrace the journey. π

I remember the sad passing of those too fleecy friends and was so pleased to see that you had welcomed new life this year. It is important to be reminded of what we should be focussed on and nothing does it better than death and new life. Go softly, all of you

Thatβs really nice of you to say! Thanks so much, Sam. Since we usually name our sheep after flowers and plants, and also, because weβre studying about wine, we thought βVermentinoβ or βTinoβ was a good fit. π

Thanks, Judy. I know! Too much fun visiting and catching up. Well, meeting the lambs is a good reason for another visit…maybe when we all get together to have dinner later this summer.
