Tuesday Tunes: As We Wind On Down The Road
“If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow
Don’t be alarmed now
It’s just a spring clean for the May queen
Yes, there are two paths you can go by
But in the long run
There’s still time to change the road you’re on.”
~Led Zeppelin
“Stairway to Heaven”
“You can start out with nothing, and out of nothing, and out of no way, a way WILL be made.”
~Reverend Michael Bernard Beckwith
Happy Tuesday!

I remember posting this a while back…I was amazed at their rendition of a classic, and the look on the face of Zep…priceless.

I agree. Heart’s performance was fantastic! And, I also loved watching the band’s facial expressions—really moving. Thanks, Van.

Definitely on the same page with this one! I’ve featured this version of the song on my blog too – it is such a joyous moment, everything that music should and can be 😊

I have always loved Led Zeppelin. My boyfriend in college gave me a box set of the band’s CDs for my birthday on year, and I still have them. And, I completely agree…this performance is definitely a joyous moment. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Ditto. I saw them live while I was still at school. They played a set of warm up gigs for a major tour. Stairway To Heaven was announced as ‘this one will be on our new album.’ 1000 capacity venue, I was two rows from the front. A great memory!

The lyrics are wonderful—love the imagery. I’ve read that some of the lyrics in their songs were influenced by J.R.R. Tolkien—“Ramble On” is one example. Thanks, Prajakta. 🙂
