Till the End
Most days I feel grateful to live on Green Hill Farm, surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains and pastures as well as my farm animals and pets. It’s not always easy, but I do feel enriched by the work that I do here and the special interactions I have with my animals.
**In memory of Clover, Hamish, and Ivy…my beloved sheep who passed away this year.

Wow, what a beautiful place you have. Makes my little farm look so tiny! Oh yeah, it is tiny! We are right in the middle of the city in a small grid that is still occupied by those who have hung on to their property instead of selling to housing developers. We are now surrounded by master planned communities with backyards the size of postage stamps. So I’m grateful for my urban farm which sits on a mere 1.5 acres, at least what’s behind the house looks like the country. My animals haven’t a clue what’s out the front cattle gate! Have a nice day.

Reblogged this on fourth generation farmgirl and commented:
I found this post as I was going through some older ones, and I have to admit, it was bitter-sweet. We’ve had to say good-bye to number of our beloved pets over the last several years, and that’s never easy. However, the following quote by Dr. Seuss came to mind that brought a little comfort: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

Oh those babies are all so downright squidgeable ….. it is hard being a human – we live so much longer than our furred (and often preferred) friends. They make a little nest in our hearts and even when they leave us they remain. That quote of Dr Seuss is a gem and hits me right in the heart where my furries and others are nestling. Safe travels Tonya, keep safe and have a wonderful Thanksgiving day 🙂

It is true that our furred friends make a little nest in our hearts. As always, thank you for your warmth and kindness, Osyth. Best wishes to you as well for a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving day. 🙂

Absolutely lovely and I am in love with the concept! More nations should set aside a day to sit and give thanks and break bread or whatever ladens their table together 😊
