Friday Farm Favorites
Sending a little sunshine and cheer your way!
I don’t think there is anything more cheerful than a baby animal. While I was visiting a relative and her family this week, I had the treat of meeting these darling ducklings, the newest addition to their menagerie of critters.
I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you for the kind and thoughtful comments full of encouragement and support over the past week regarding Maud’s passing. Farmguy (Scott) and I truly appreciate your warm sentiments. Many, many thanks. XOXO
I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

I was wondering…what it is like for the baby ducks to grow up without a mother. Do they know how to be a mother when they have babies?

That’s a great question, Joy. I believe being a mother is probably something innate to animals, but I’ll have to look into it.

I once owned three ducks for a day. They were amazingly cute, but I was 8 months pregnant and didn’t live on a farm. Anyway, you get the gist of what I’m saying… Lol… 😉 Love all of the pics!

You definitely need the right setting for ducks. 🙂

Nothing quite like a duckling to bring on a smile…I keep thinking I want some, and then I remember how many critters I have already.

Your baby ducklings are so adorable and look so soft and warm. I always wanted to hold them longer than really they should be held. I hope you are having extra amounts of fun, dancing with your disco ball and all the assorted things you do to keep busy on the farm, dear. Did you happen to see my brother’s mural of a place called Bluescreek Farms who opened a new meat and other sundries market? He took photographs they gave him and made a really interesting mural with horse and buggy, then they had a little cart or old fashioned car to take their wares places, then a truck, van and it included grandparents. I thought of you and you may have seen it, I have forgotten, busy weekend drained my brain and then worked nine hour day…. smiles and hugs!
