A Farmgirl in Firenze

Farmguy and I are in Tuscany and having a lovely time.  So far, we’ve had a wonderful experience sightseeing, learning about the art and history of Florence, visiting museums, wine tasting, and just soaking up the beautiful sun and scenery.  From the Ponte Vecchio to baked pears in Barolo as well as Michelangelo’s David to Dolce & Gabbana, it’s truly been a treat.  So much of our enjoyment during this visit is due to our good fortune in learning about a fantastic tour company called, Sunny Tuscany.  These private tour guides certainly have made our time here memorable.  Many thanks to Amy, Monika, and Riccardo for their helpfulness, warmth, and attention to detail.

Here are a few photos from our time in Florence.  I hope you enjoy!  More pictures and adventures to come. 🙂

  1. Oh my goodness, I’m going to Florence in May and am SO excited – the photos look gorgeous! Any top recommendations? I am super excited to see Michelangelo’s David. He inspired me to study art history at uni, so I’m gonna be in HEAVEN seeing him! x

    • You’re going to have an amazing time! You definitely want to see Michelangelo’s David–get a reservation or tickets ahead of time, Uffizi museum is a must…again, make a reservation. Visit the rooftop of the Westin Excelsior hotel for lovely views of Florence. Of course, walk over the Ponte Vecchio and visit shops. Donatello’s in Florence also has very nice and reasonable leather goods. Also, avoid gelato shops with “mountains”of gelato. A good one: Bar Vivoli near Santa Croce. Have Fun!!! xo

sunnytuscany.com is an excellent tour company, too. 🙂

  3. Thank you for the fantastic but far too brief tour of Italy, Tonya! You and the hubby deserved a getaway! 🙂 Some would have stretched this post into a month and I will come back to treasure and savor so much culture! Happy Easter and enjoy! ❤
