Dog-Friendly Landscaping Ideas
Since spring is almost here, I’m sharing this helpful post from the FACE foundation. It’s full of dog-friendly landscaping ideas and wonderful tips to keep your pets happy and healthy.

My name is Tonya, and I grew up on a 300-acre farm in rural Virginia that has been in my family for over 100 years. After graduating from college, receiving my master’s degree in speech and language pathology, and living and working in a small city for six years, I decided to return to the place of my childhood. Here, in this rural area, on this patch of green, where for four generations my family has farmed, gardened, and lived, I, too wanted to be a part of this continuity. As a fourth generation farmgirl, I have many interests that not only include, but also go beyond the basics of farming, gardening, sheep and chicken-keeping. It is all of this and more that I plan on sharing in this blog.

Although now I am a proud owner of a cat (or the other way round), I’ve always loved dogs!

It’s probably the other way around, especially if your cat is like mine. 😉 I’ve always loved dogs, too; however, I’ve warmed up to cats since moving to our farm. It seems like a new one shows up every few months. 😊
Although this post mainly focuses on dogs, I think there’s some general information addressing plant varieties that are safe for both cats and dogs.

This was an excellent service to all of us who love pets, Tonya. I like natural care for lawns and plants. When I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s, we had mint and marigolds to discourage certain bugs and critters, too.
We had a compost pile, too. We recycled a lot in our house but I really liked knowing the shavings from food helped to create healthy worms for Mom’s flower and vegetables garden. 🙂
