Clementine and Contentment
I’ve been challenged by Michelle Cook, author of Putting my Feet in the Dirt, to write about the subject, “more happy than not.” Michelle is a fantastic writer and poet. Her posts are always interesting and inspirational. If you’re not familiar with her blog, please take time to visit.
These are the official rules for this challenge:
1. Answer the question “What makes you more happy than not?” Any form will do…poem, song, pictograph, short story, anything!
2. Link back to the person who tagged you.
3. Have fun! You can add your links as well.
4. You can also go to Shelumiels website (the originator of this challenge) and sign up on his web link to link back to your tag.
I would like to challenge Becky Ellis, author of Beckysbubblesblog, because she has such a sunny and delightful personality. Please visit Becky’s blog. Becky writes the most interesting and fun posts about Champagne, food, and entertaining.
This acrostic poem about contentment and a photograph of my cat, Clementine are my answers to Michelle’s challenge:
**Happiness can be fleeting, while contentment is often more attainable. Starting my day with a cup of coffee and Clementine Kitty on my lap is my idea of contentment. 🙂
Contentment
Capacity for
Ongoing acceptance of circumstances without
Negative
Thoughts regarding life
Events. An embracing of “the
Now” with
Thankfulness as well as
Mindfulness—allowing
Everyday,
Natural happenings to become
Treasured moments.

Oh, I love your interpretation of contentment! And I agree that one of the best ways to get there is via a cup of coffee and a sweet lap cat! 🙂

Thanks for the kind words and for participating in the challenge. I love your poem and your kitty reminds me of a calico cat that we used to have named “Callie”. Hope you’re having a great week!
